Hi there!
My name is Landy. I’m a proud island gyal hailing from Haiti.
My educational background is in Architecture and Urban & Regional Planning but I’ve also worked in adjacent fields including Interior Design, Urban Design, Civic Engagement and Policy. My favorite things are food, clothes, music, naps on the beach, spending time with my faves and creativity.
My earliest memory of exploring creativity was in Haiti, on this gigantic chalkboard we had on our galri (porch). As a kid, I would stand in front of the chalkboard and just draw for hours. One of my favorite themes was cities. A little home would evolve into an entire functional city, with every component thoughtfully decided and placed. These cities even included street scenarios with little figures (like a dad walking her daughter to school or a boy riding a bike for example)… I had time, lol…and I was really an Urban Planner before I knew Urban Planning was even a real profession.
Fast forward to now, I’m still absolutely fascinated by all things creative. As I gained an understanding of the diverse world around me, my passion has grown for creative ideas, manifested in any form, that are able to inspire and serve people and communities. Professional I’ve practiced as an Architect/Designer and Urban Planner but my creativity is multidimensional.
This blog is a re-creation of the gigantic chalkboard for the little girl on the galri, who was curious, had a thirst to explore and live and loved to imagine. It’s a place to share the well of creatives ideas running through my mind constantly…and hopefully for you, an inspiration to explore your own multidimensional creative abilities 🙂
Thank you for visiting! Say hello!
